These fleece-gloves from Karrimor have been with me for a long time. Sometimes replaced by other gloves which have either disappeared or failed to deliver.
Comments and current insights: Time and again I have tried thin gloves with different kinds of membranes. Some windproof and some supposedly waterproof. They have all stubbornly refused to dry, once they got really wet. For them to dry out in damp weather, you needed a fire or a nice, warm cottage. Not always available. So my recommendation are liner type gloves in synthetic material. Wool is nice but wears out faster and takes longer to dry. Cheap, thin fleece gloves from the super market are usually great. A tight fit makes it easier to do camp chores with the gloves on.
